This Small Animal Master Course brings together recognized surgeons in small animal orthopedics and traumatology. Through interactive case-based discussions, surgical planning sessions, and hands-on laboratory sessions, course participants are given the opportunity to develop and refine their skills in managing challenging orthopedic problems commonly encountered in small and toy breed dogs. Participant interaction with the faculty and with each other is an important part of this course.

Learning objectives
integrate advances in the art and science of fracture repair of small and toy breed dogs into their clinical practice
apply their understanding of fracture biology and fracture biomechanics to perform fracture assessment and fracture planning on clinical cases
apply new techniques and innovative concepts in fracture fixation of small and toy breed dog fractures
determine indications for open reduction or minimally invasive fracture repair
define indications for internal fixation and the criteria for implant selection
determine appropriate treatment strategies for articular fractures
make decisions on treatment options for pelvic and acetabular trauma
develop skills in post-operative surgical assessment
